If you haven’t already explored, Inside Aging Parent Care (the writers have commented a couple of times on this blog), head on over to read thoughtful, intriguing and skillfully written postings, many of which zero in on how we as caregivers can and should  harness our inner strength. Caring for the caregiver — what a concept — often gets lost as the drama of supporting parents or a seriously ill family member intensifies. Right now, as a lot of us provide assistance to others, what can be more important than keeping ourselves in the best condition possible?

We hope this blog will carry us all from caregiver desperation to connection, support, conversation and a new understanding of ourselves and our loved ones at this terrible and mysterious stage of life. We may at the least relieve some of our caregiver stress through sharing and listening. At best we may find a way to redeem our fears about the inevitable end of this road in the hopes of rising above negative attitudes about aging and death.
